Immigrant Workers Being Used By DC Democrats

So, a few DC Democrats are spending time trying to organize and rally immigrant workers here in Saipan to push for support of a federal take over of the CNMI's immigration.

The US citizens here in on the Islands are appreciative of your work and efforts. There is no question about this fact. The simple reality is that when many chose to leave your country -- many were in search of more freedom and greater opportunity. If US citizenship was part of your goal -- why didn't you simply apply to immigrate to the United States?

Could it be that the immigration system in the United States was difficult for many of you? And, if so, what makes you think it will be easier should the federal takeover happen?

Should a federal takeover occur -- this is what will happen to many of the immigrant workers -- even if you have worked on the CNMI for decades.

First, many will be sent back to their original country of origin. Good luck trying to come back -- even if your children are American citizens. If you don't believe me -- look how many family members are still trying to reunite with relatives who are US citizens and living in the US.

Assuming you follow the laws after a federal take over -- you will have to go back to your original country of origin to reapply for a new working visa -- your application will be placed at the beginning of the line to follow the procedures and timelines of the US immigration system.

Have you spoken to friends who are back in your country of origin? Ask them how long and how difficult it is to get a working visa to the US. This will be the new system that you will be supporting. I have relatives in the Philippines and they applied for working visas to the US -- over 7 years ago and they are still waiting.

Immigrant workers of the CNMI, please don't get sucked in by the DC Democrats. They are truly trying to destroy the CNMI economy. The DC Democrats have already hurt our economy by creating doubt with business owners and possible investors.

If your dream is to be US citizens -- go for it -- I encourage you to pursue your dream. You can apply and try to immigrate to the US at anytime, but know that should a federal takeover happen in the CNMI-- your chances will not improve either way. All that a takeover will accomplish is the destruction of the CNMI economy. The result is the closing of more businesses and the loss of thousands of more jobs -- one of which could be yours. Please save your job and the CNMI and protect us from the onslaught of the DC Democrats. Don't believe their lies.

Be Careful what you wish for....

Take a look at the US Federal requirements for the CNMI Non-resident workers to become US Permanent Residents:

Eligibility

There are four categories for granting permanent residence to foreign nationals based upon employment:

EB-1 Priority workers

Foreign nationals of extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics
Foreign national that are outstanding professors or researchers
Foreign nationals that are managers and executives subject to international transfer to the United States

EB-2 Professionals with advanced degrees or persons with exceptional ability

Foreign nationals of exceptional ability in the sciences, arts or business
Foreign nationals that are advanced degree professionals
Qualified alien physicians who will practice medicine in an area of the U.S. which is underserved. Read more about this particular program.

EB-3 Skilled or professional workers

Foreign national professionals with bachelor's degrees (not qualifying for a higher preference category)
Foreign national skilled workers (minimum two years training and experience)
Foreign national unskilled workers

EB-4 Special Immigrants

Foreign national religious workers
Employees and former employees of the U.S. Government abroad

Now how many in the Dekada Movement on Saipan believe that they can qualify for any of these?

The US Government is taking these workers for a ride...and...someone needs to tell them to get off as soon as possible...

Cause that ride is taking them right back to their country of origin...

There is another element people need to look at. The unions are strong supporters of the US elected officals who are sponsoring legislation which will harm the CNMI. It is the hope of the unions in the US to close all the businesses here. Why would they want our garment industry to do well?

Non-resident workers should realize that the US take over of immigration will kill the garment industry in Saipan. There will be no jobs, because the same sponsors of the legislation will want to help the US unions. They don't want workers working in Saipan. They want union workers to get jobs in California and New York.

Also, there are no working visas for workers in the garment industry.

USED... is a good word to describe the unscroupolous behavior of the Department of Interior. Take a look at this article:

http://www.saipantribune.com/newsstory.aspx?cat=1&newsID=65656

The title of the story is:

"OIA offered to pay for the cost of Karidat trip"

Essentially this story exposes the obvious conflict of having DOI pay for the expenses for NEGATIVE testimony to be given at a US Sentate Hearing. Hell.....Mr. Cohen even admited to "expetiting" the payment process to get these negative witnesses to DC to testify.

I have no problem with the testimony, I believe that they should have a right to testify. However, I STRONGLY DISAGREE with DOI paying the expenses for this testimony while also not paying for testimony that is positive.

Why only NEGATIVE statements?

This stinks of a set up to me.

Sure, Cohen offers to pay then people find out and decides to cover his tracks. Well, she didn't get her trip paid for, but somehow via rumors, she had a VISA fast tracked to her.

During testimony, they didn't even mention that the perpetuators were aggressively sought and punished by the CNMI. Amazing how facts are conveniently forgotten.

Some of the testimony was an actual lie. One of the women said that the Catholic Church supported the federal take over. This is blatanly false. The hearing was a set up of false and bought testimony.
