Death For the CNMI Looming

Stayman & Fellow DC Democrats continue their assault on the CNMI. They've increased the minimum wage and the result has been more closures of CNMI businesses.

They are working hard to kill tourism with a federal takeover of immigration.

If this happens -- I hope the US taxpayers are ready to pay for all the entitlements the CNMI will need since businesses will now be closed up and we'll all be jobless. With amnesty -- we'll have more mouths to feed.

Oh, and don't forget about the US taxpayers having to fund the immigration system in the CNMI -- that will be an additional cost to the US taxpayer.

Wait until we figure out the costs of all of this -- the taxpayers in the US will want to know come elections.

The Dems & Immigration

They have been pushing the CNMI to jump off a cliff and create our own legislation to kill our immigration. They claim that if we don't -- they will deal with us during the national immigration debate in the States and we'll get rolled on.

Well, guess what -- the national debate has started and nothing is moving. The Dems have nowhere to go. The New Majority has been playing their same old games. We didn't cave to their demands for campaign money and they had to throw threats our way to scare the other Islands. Guess what -- lots of hot air and no delivery.

They love to scare Islanders into believing that the sky is falling and that they are out to help us. Well, the sky isn't falling and they are only out to help those who help them politically. Stayman, Pelosi, Cohen and evidently "Sell Out" Tenorio can't scare us with a dead debate.

They threatened over doubling our cost of businesses over night and threatened to take over our immigration. They hold the majority and can't get anything through their own chambers. They have been in the majority for over half the year and all they have to show for it is Pelosi visiting Damascus while our brothers and sisters sacrifice themselves and their families in the War on Terrorism.

What Is Tenorio Thinking?

As we all know, Cohen is working with Stayman to stick it to the NMI. By helping Stayman, Cohen protects his friends in America Samoa (who also happens to be friends with Nancy "Friends of Damascas" Pelosi). Stayman then gets to stick it to the Islands who have never given to his political interests when he was head of Insular Affairs under Clinton.

There was a meeting in which was supposed to be for federal agenicies, but somehow, Tenorio was "brought in" to discuss some issues which were counter to the wishes of the NMI.

Could Tenorio be too cozy with the new majority in Congress? Could he be part of the Cohen/Stayman plan? Let's watch the money train! The DC Democrats like to bring up Abramoff, but it looks like they are planning a game to really rip off the NMI, while reward those who help.

There seems to be a plan being hatched to make the rest of DC believe that a federal takeover of immigration and the sudden and drastic increase in the minimum wage is what the NMI wishes for itself.

Business interests in America Samoa profiting from NMI punishment? Democrat Party hurting the NMI for its past support of the GOP? Tenorio possibly getting support from outsiders?

What is Tenorio thinking?

Damascas and Saipan

So, the DC Democrats are in control of both the US House and the US Senate. Instead of focusing on issues pertaining to US citizens, leadership has been focused on two areas --

The Federalization of NMI's immigration and opening up dialogue with Damascas -- international terrorism's bankroll.

Never mind the fact that most Americans want stronger borders on the mainland -- the DC Democrats would rather ignore the needs of Americans and would rather placate foreign nationals on a set of Islands thousands of miles a away by offering amnesty opportunities. Never mind that US troops need financial assistance -- DC Democrats sip coffee with the very leadership who pay for the guns and bullets that kill our soldiers.

The DC Democrats are in the majority and all they are doing is fostering anti-US sentiment. They wish to hurt the Insular areas, unless we pony up campaign dough and they placate the leaders of international terrorists.

It's unbelievable that even a tiny majority here on the Islands support this kind of leadership.

Cohen Works For Homeland Security?

Cohen is so anxious to give cover to his friends in Samoa that he's willing to sell the CNMI out. We all know that he has pulled the waffle -- "the Administration supports legislation, ""the Administration does not support legislation,"" the Administration encourages legislation, but there is no legislation." Cohen flip flops.

Cohen states that the White House approved of his prewritten statements, but his statement regarding the position of the White House was in the question and answer period -- how could the White House approve his answers? He has LIED to the people of the CNMI. See the script from the hearing:

Chairman Bingaman: “….so is it the administration’s position that it wants to work with Congress to develop (federal immigration) legislation that will be sensitive to these problems and can be passed in this Congress? Is that the administration’s position?”

Dep Asst Sec Cohen: “YES………we are absolutely ready to work with our congress on good (federal immigration) legislation. We don’t necessarily say that that is the only option but we are here ready to work with you to fashion good (federal immigration) legislation…

Chairman Bingaman: “is there a better option”

Dep Asst Sec Cohen: “Perhaps not…..good (federal immigration) legislation perhaps is the best option and we are still studying that and we are studying that and the a legislation that had been passed before in light of a current circumstances and current needs, I think mostly we want to make sure that we don’t inadvertently do anything that would be harmful”

Chairman Bingaman: “right….in 2001 the administration strongly supported the bill that this committee reported out and passed through the full senate, a I guess you are saying that a you are a little luke warm on the whole idea of us passing (federal immigration) legislation in this area now…or am I misreading that?….I am just trying, I’m trying to figure out to what extent is the administration is willing to … to fully engage with the congress with this committee in developing (federal immigration) legislation that we can then move ahead with”

Dep Asst Sec Cohen: “yeah…Mr. Chairman I would not say that we are luke warm about working with you to pass (federal immigration) legislation, we are just cautioning a…you know…against a the potential side effects of bad (federal immigration) legislation….but I think good (federal immigration) legislation which is something that would result in the type of process that we are all talking about a….can really help the situation and put the CNMI on a path to a much -stronger and more secure future”

Take a look for yourself -- Cohen responds that the Administration's position is to work with Congress for a Federal Takeover. But, when asked directly by media -- Cohen states that the White House does not have a position -- which is it? Someone is lying.

If he's going to meet with Foreign Nationals regarding immigration -- why not meet with the Koreans who were held prisoner by a garment manufacturer in Samoa?

We know all he is trying to do is rally support for an immigration take over in the CNMI. His job is to protect ALL the insular areas -- not punish one for the DC Democrats.

Do CNMI immigrant workers really want to be part of a US Guestworker Program?

Just recently, a report was published regarding the guestworker programs in the United States. It's an interesting read ( http://www.splcenter.org/news/item.jsp?aid=247) , especially given the fact that the DC Democrats are putting less attention to large scale abuse in their own backyards -- but demonize our Islands and our people because of a few isolated incidents (which most have been vigorously prosecuted). The report bascially states that there is widespread abuse of US immigration -- and the DC Democrat response? Extend US immigration policy to the CNMI.

Instead of wasting US Taxpayer money on a political shakedown for the benefit of the Democrat Party (ala Stayman/Pelosi/Tester/Miller/YesCohenToo), the Democrats should focus resources and attention to the REAL immigration problems of the US.

The American people want real results that truly affect them. Islands thousands of miles away with a handful of isolated incidents does not warrant a loss of resources, especially when the immediate US borders are under assault from drug smugglers, human traffickers and terrorists.

The numbers speak for themselves. Every individual border state in the US has greater numbers of problems regarding immigration compared to ALL the islands of the CNMI. Yet, the Democrats want to waste US Coast Guard, Border Patrol, Customs and other law enforcement resources on Islands too far away to hurt mainland US.

The DC Democrats are wanting to shakedown the Islands so bad, they have lost sight of doing what's best for the American people.
